Daniel Boone
Daniel Boone was born in a cabin and they didn't have doctors. A maid held him and a light shone on him from the west from the window. He was very smart and another boy thought he knew more than Daniel Boone and they got into a fight. Daniel Boone won the fight and he led the trail through the woods. He grew up to be a real good hunter, his friend that he fought with went on a long hunting trip with him to Pennyslavannia, they killed beavers, other animals and his first bear. He sold the hides and they made $500 and they blew the money on hotels and fancy restaurants. They went back home. Daniel's friend became a woodworker and Daniel Boone's family moved to North Carolina. Daniel Boone volunteered for the war. Daniel Boone killed 3 Indians, but he didn't like war and didn't like to kill people. After the war he went back to hunting and he met Rebecca and then they got married. They had a lot of children, one of his children got captured by the Indians and Daniel Boone had to save her, she left a trail for them to find her and it worked. The Indians raided Daniel Boone's home and killed several people that lived near Daniel Boone. They moved back to Virginia, but Daniel saw the mountains and wanted to go west. Daniel Boone crossed over the Appalachian mountains and there he became well known for hunting and trapping. He was gone for 2 years. Rebecca thought he had died while he was gone she had another baby. Daniel Boone wanted to go even farther west now. He went to Kentucky this time. He lost his brother in law and best friend John Stewart to the river. Daniel Boone packed up his family and was leading a group of families to Kentucky. On the way to kentucky, Daniel told his son James and 2 other boys to go back to NC and get some supplies. New came that some Indians massacred some people and come to find out it was those 3 boys. Daniel Boone was very upset and just settled down there in Clinch Valley, NC because they weren't ready to go on to Kentucky after the bad news. The Indians captured Daniel Boone and some other men. They kept Daniel and they were mean to him, but Daniel started acting like he was one of them. He made a secret gun and went back to warn the people, but they didn't believe him at first they thought he committed treason, he was in a trial for it. Then the Indians attacked and found out that Daniel was telling the truth. Daniel Boone called for reinforcements from NC, but Daniel Boone and his friends won the battle before they got there. Daniel Boone became famous throughout all the land because of the battle at Boonesborough. There was an ambush and Daniel's son Israel got killed during it. When Daniel was 76 years old one of his friends asked him to go west with him to explore. Daniel went for 6 months he came home with over 50 beaver skins and he paid off all his debts and could feed his family for 1 year with the leftovers. Daniel went almost to the pacific ocean on his trip, he saw yellowstone park. Rebecca died in her sleep, Daniel was heart broken and went to visit his children from house to house. Daniel died when he was 85, only one month from 86 years old. 25 years later his family dug up their graves and moved them to Kentucky with a great ceremony. Daniel Boone became known as one of the greatest fronteirsman in history.
